Ferry from Oran to Almeria

Trasmediterranea ferries cross this route from Algeria to Spain twice a week.  Crossings take around 12 hours on average.

 

Almeria is a large city in Andalusia on the southeastern coast of Spain .  From the port it is also possible to sail to North Africa.  If you are staying in Almeria, the four star Hotel Vincci Mediterráneo is relatively cheap and situated close to the beach, airport and the historical centre of the city.  Must-see sights include the Alcazaba, a Moorish fortress built in the 10th century, the cathedral, which was rebuilt on the site of an old mosque, and the Barrio de la Chancla; the old gypsy district of the city.  For eating out, the Paseo de Almeria has many small streets lined with tapas bars.  The best time to visit Almeria is during the fiestas: these occur in Easter and August.
